Abstract:
An apparatus is described for needling a non-woven material with a support (3) which receives at least one needleboard (1) and is drivable in a reciprocating fashion both in the needle-penetration direction (5) as well as the direction of passage (6) of the non-woven material and on which are coupled the connecting rods (10) of two oppositely drivable eccentric drives (8, 9) for the drive in the needle-penetration direction (5) and on which there acts at least one additional eccentric drive (12). In order to provide advantageous constructional conditions it is proposed that the connecting rods (10) of the two oppositely drivable eccentric drives (8, 9) extend inclined in opposite directions with respect to the needle-penetration direction (5), that the additional eccentric drive (12) revolves synchronously with one of the two other eccentric drives (8, 9), that the connecting rod (15) of the additional eccentric drive (12) which is also linked to the support (3) forms with the connecting rod (10) of the synchronously revolving eccentric drive (8) a parallelogram of links for guiding the support (3) and that the eccentric drives (8, 9) which are drivable in opposite directions are provided with a phase shift (null) or are adjustable with respect to the mutual angular position.
Abstract:
An apparatus is described for needling a non-woven (2) with at least one support (6) for a needleboard (4) held in a frame (12) and with two parallel eccentric drives (7, 8) which are disposed between the frame (12) and the needleboard support (6) and are made of two parallel eccentric shafts (9 and 10) each for the needleboard drive in the needling direction on the one hand and in the direction of passage of the non-woven on the other hand. In order to provide advantageous constructional conditions it is proposed that an intermediate support (13) is provided between the needleboard support (6) and the frame (12) and that the intermediate support (13) is guided with respect to the frame (12) and the needleboard support (6) with respect to the intermediate support (13) in circular paths by way of the two eccentric drives (7, 8) which are disposed on the one hand between the frame (12) and the intermediate support (13) and on the other hand between the intermediate support (13) and the needleboard support (6).
Abstract:
There is described an apparatus for bundling a drafted roving (4), comprising a rotating conveying surface (3) provided with air through-holes (6) succeeding each other in direction of rotation (9), and comprising a suction means connected to the conveying surface (3) on the side facing away from the roving (4) in the vicinity of the air through-holes (6), which suction means forms a slot-like suction zone (5) for the roving (4) extending in direction of rotation (9) of the conveying surface (3). To create advantageous constructional conditions, it is proposed that the suction zone (5) should have at least one suction slot tapering in direction of rotation (9) of the conveying surface (3) from at least two rows of holes to one row of holes.
Abstract:
In order to decrease the resistance to the pulling of a nonwoven web in an apparatus for needling nonwoven webs, a perforated plate is proposed, in which at least those through holes which are formed in the perforated plate at least adjacent to its upstream end have downstream edge portions which are disposed in recesses, which are formed in that surface of the plate which faces the nonwoven web and which gradually taper to said planar surface of the plate in the downstream direction.
Abstract:
In an apparatus for applying a nonwoven web to a carrier web moving in the same direction, it is to be ensured that the nonwoven web has straight longitudinal edges as it is applied to the carrier web. This is accomplished in permitting the unwound nonwoven web to sag freely in a slack loop between the unwinding station and a feeding conveyor which precedes the edge-trimming device. The velocities of conveyance of the feeding conveyor and of the take-off rolls have a predetermined ratio in dependence on the velocity of the receiving surface on which the carrier web receives the nonwoven web and are controlled in such a manner that the nonwoven web will be subjected to a predetermined tensile stress between the take-off rolls and the carrier web.
Abstract:
A mechanism for operating a needle board in a needling machine comprises two reciprocable rods which serve to operate the board and each of which, together with the associated eccentric drive, is mounted in a bearing housing. To permit an adaptation of the rod spacing to a desired board length, the two bearing housings are rigidly interconnected by at least one spacer to form a flexurally stiff structure.
Abstract:
In an apparatus for needling a web, which apparatus comprises a brushlike web support consisting of individual brush plates, it is desired to substantially eliminate an influence of the joints between the brush plates on the surface pattern of the needled nonwoven web. To that end the bristle tufts of those rows of tufts which extend adjacent to and along the joints between the brush plates are carried individually or in groups in alternation by the two brush plates which are disposed on opposite sides of the joint.
Abstract:
Apparatus for unwinding a nonwoven fibrous web from a roll thereof comprises a roll-bearing for supporting said roll on the underside of its periphery and a core-mounting in which the core of said roll is mounted to be adjustable in elevation relative to the roll-bearing. Said core-mounting is adjustable by a positioning drive under the control of a controller. To avoid an application of excessive loads to the web between the roll and the roll-bearing, the positioning drive is controlled by the controller in dependence on the pressure applied by the roll to the roll-bearing.
Abstract:
There is described a roller drive for the feed of a web of material, in particular for the web feed of a needling machine, comprising an electric drive motor (2) for at least one feed roller (1), which is connected to a mains-operated intermediate DC circuit (5). To create advantageous constructional conditions it is proposed that the mechanical drive train between the drive motor (2) and the feed roller (1) includes an additional electric motor (9) likewise connected to the intermediate DC circuit (5), which additional motor can be driven as generator by the drive motor (2).
Abstract:
To ensure that a needle board of a needling machine can be detached from the needle beam in a simple manner and without a substantial expenditure of work, the needle beam is provided with spring-biased mechanisms for clamping the needle board and actuators associated with said clamping mechanisms are provided on the machine frame or on the stripper.
