摘要: The present workpiece transporting apparatus is arranged between two operating stations such as a die casting machine and a trimming press. A transport arm is journaled at one end to an axis extending substantially horizontally to the axis of at least one of the operating stations. A tilting arm is journaled to the free end of the transport arm about a second axis extending in parallel to the first mentioned axis. A tool means such as grippers are secured to the free end of the tilting arm. Drive means are connected to the transport arm and to the grippers. The apparatus may be controlled in response to the work sequence of one or the other or both operating stations.

摘要: The present method and apparatus for die casting of metals such as aluminum, is especially suitable for casting under vacuum. The casting is performed under such operating conditions that a contact between the molten metal being cast and the free atmosphere is avoided all the way from the melt to the casting proper. For this purpose, the present casting apparatus includes a closeable and evacuable transport container connected to the casting apparatus proper by a coupling which is also evacuable. The transport container is placed on a filling chamber and the evacuating apparatus is arranged to simultaneously evacuate the filling chamber, the transport container and the coupling between the transport container and the filling chamber proper. The evacuation takes place in a direction opposite to the flow direction of the metal being cast. If desired, further evacuating means may be provided for evacuation of the filling chamber and the die in the direction of the metal flow. The vacuum is switched off in response to the operation of a pressure piston after the filling opening of the filling chamber has been closed.

摘要: A device for finishing complementary die or mold parts and similar complementary parts has a base plate for supporting a part to be finished in upwardly facing position. The support plate is slidable between a lowered position in which the two parts complement or otherwise coact with each other and a raised position in which the two parts face each other spaced apart, and is also swingable into a position in which the parts are in substantially planar alignment both facing upwardly, whereby both parts are conveniently accessible for finishing.
