摘要： A trailer and a method for loading a trailer onto a transport vehicle. The trailer is elevated, causing a rear axle assembly of the trailer to pivot from a forward position to a position that is generally normal to the trailer frame. A front wheel axle assembly is rotated upwardly, and the trailer is then subsequently slid/or pushed along a generally planar bed surface of the transport vehicle. The end of the bed surface contacts the rear axle assembly during the sliding process, and with continuing sliding the rear axle assembly moves from a normal position to a rearward position.

摘要： A head bolt and associated socket includes a head portion associated with the bolt configured for enhanced grasping thereof by a complementary tool member. A first and second multifaceted stepped torque application head surface of the head bolt are utilized for the spreading of torque loads to the head surfaces of the bolt minimizing distortion by or deformation of the head surfaces during torquing. A modified aspect of the invention includes an adhesive sealing fluid contained within the head bolt selectively utilized and directed by the socket.

摘要： A unit for the sterilization of fluid media, for example contaminated water, the unit including a source of germicidal radiation disposed substantially centrally within a tubular structure or housing, there being provided between said source of germicidal radiation and the innermost surface of said tubular structure an annular passage constituting a flow path for the fluid media. The unit is capable of providing a lethal or "killing" dosage of germicidal radiation, in excess of 99.99% "kill", even for very large flow rates of fluid media through the unit.

摘要： A precision capacitive shaft encoder providing a d-c signal corresponding to the angular position of a shaft. Two variable capacitances are coupled in tandem by a rotatable shaft. Each capacitor has a capacitance that varies linearly with a change in the angular position of the shaft, and the sum of the two capacitances is always constant for any angular position of the shaft. Each capacitance is alternately coupled to a reference d-c voltage and a discharge circuit. The capacitances are electrically coupled in series and the charge periodically acquired at the junction of the capacitances is a function of the position of the shaft. An error-compensating voltage is imposed on the junction when the capacitances are coupled to the reference voltages, and the junction is coupled to sample-and-hold apparatus provided with a error-correcting circuit.

摘要： A winch wheel for attachment to conventional sailboat winches for trimming sails comprises a crank shaft adapted to be inserted into the winch mechanism, a hub located on the shaft, at least two spokes extending radially from the hub to an outer rim, and an outer rim connected to the spokes. A crank handle is located on one of the spokes. The rim is provided with a resilient foam sheath, to provide comfort and flotation. In one preferred embodiment, the crank handle is selectably movable between a plurality of discrete positions, permitting a user to conveniently select a preferred radial distance from the hub for the crank handle while using the device. One or more half cleats may be provided on the hub to secure a tensioned line.
