摘要： A backrest height adjustment device for office furniture chairs of the posture type in which the backrest is applied to a housing that forms a socket which freely receives the backrest support member that is conventionally secured to the chair seat, which housing journals a cam lock member that is received in the socket and operates with a vertical slot formed in the support member and about an axis extending transversely of the support member. The cam lock member includes a pair of oppositely disposed cam lock portions that are proportioned to make equal but opposite binding engagement with the respective sides of the slot to fix the backrest against vertical movement; such cam surface portions that have a slip fit relation with the slot sides when the cam lock surfaces are free of such slot sides, to permit height adjustment of the backrest. The housing also mounts a guide bushing received in the housing socket end cooperating with a second vertical slot in the support member to confine the movement of the backrest to up and down movement relative to its support.

摘要： A shell chair construction comprising a shell of molded rigid polyurethane shaped to define seat and back portions in which the seat portion has applied to same a seat assembly comprising a contoured seat pan of plate like construction, to the upper side of which is applied seat padding covered by fabric material that is brought around the rim of the pan and stapled thereto on the underside of the pan. The pan carries spaced fastener elements made fast thereto for reception in correspondingly located holes in the shell seat portion to receive fastener screws that secure the seat subassembly and the chair iron in place on the chair shell. The shell includes compression inserts embedded in the shell portion through which the said shell seat portion holes are formed, and against which the seat pan is clamped by the fastener screws that make the seat assembly and chair iron fast to the chair shell. The seat pan defines a downturned marginal rim which is clamped against the shell seat portion by the action of the fastener screws, to clamp the seat padding covering fabric in place.

摘要： A foundation framework for office furniture desks, tables and the like comprising a torsionally rigid top structure, a pair of torsionally rigid panel leg structures supporting either end of the top structure and disposed in parallel spaced relation adjacent either end of the top structure and extending transversely thereof, a pair of spaced apart brackets on the upper edges of each panel leg structure that are secured by screws to the top structure, and a tie plate, such as a back panel, secured between the top structure and the panel leg structures and extending normally of same, at each end of the top structure to make the panel leg structure resistant to hinging action relative to the top structure. This basic foundation framework may be used as such to provide tables, or augmented by the application to same of standardized furniture forming components to provide desks of various types, bookcases, filing cabinets, and the like.

摘要： A connector for connecting non-metallic sheathed cable to electrical boxes in which the connector is an all plastic, screwless device, in the form of a tubular plastic body having a cross bore in the end of same that is to protrude from the box in which is journaled a rotary cam member that is shaped to permit ready application of the cable to the connector body in one position of the cam member relative to the body, and to indent the cable into an opposing recess formed in the connector body, in the inverted position of the rotary cam member, with the body being bisected extending from the other or mounting end of the same up to the cross bore for contraction purposes to permit application of the body mounted end into the box knock-out opening, and with the action of the cam member in indenting the cable being effective to expand the body mounting end to anchor same to the box.

摘要： A unitary panel leg arrangement for office furniture comprising a pair of quadrilaterally shaped pans disposed in opposed relation which receive horizontally disposed parallel reinforcing members of channel form and a pair of vertically disposed leg mounting channels at the ends of the reinforcing members which are equipped with weld nuts and brackets for application thereto of screws to secure same to a table top and back panel, and to secure a leg to the respective vertical side edges of the panel leg arrangement. The reinforcing members comprise a central channel member of hat shaped section separating a pair of side members of wing flange channel section, with the latter being equipped with weld nuts to secure the panel leg arrangement to a back of gusset plate. The reinforcing and leg mounting members are welded to the pan that is to face inwardly of the furniture, while the reinforcing members are bonded to the outwardly facing pan by an epoxy resin to insure a flaw free surface for good aesthetic effect without requiring machining.

摘要： A knockout arrangement for molded plastic electric wiring boxes in which the box is molded to define, at the juncture of the box side walls and back wall, and in conjunction with one or more of the box side walls, a corner segment having a pair of integral leaf portions of which one of the leaf portions is integral with the box side wall and the other leaf portion is integral with the box back wall. The respective segment leaf portions are offset inwardly into the chamber that is defined by the box, but are connected to the box wall each is associated with by an integral frangible marginal portion of film thickness proportions, which form a frangible marginal portion about the corner segment that is continuous and uninterrupted. The knockout formed by the corner segment can be removed by applying a screw driver or the like against same from either the inside or the outside of the box to push the corner segment out of its position in the box to define the knockout opening that is to receive a cable end to be inserted in the box.

A molding about the rim of the shell masks the fastening elements about the shell rim and forms a bumper for the chair, and a conventional chair base is affixed to the frame at the shell indentation.
