Abstract: An integrated interlock and homing device for a rail assembly. The interlock includes a number of stacked locking bars located adjacent to the rails and a separate locking slide mounted adjacent to each rail in alignment with the locking bars. The homing device includes a separate pivot arm mounted to each rail that moves between open and closed positions when the corresponding rail is extended or retracted. The pivot arm includes an actuator pin that operates the corresponding locking slide. When the homing device is opened, the arm and actuator pin move the locking slide into a locked position thereby locking the locking bars and preventing additional rails from being opened. When the homing device is closed, the arm and actuator pin move the locking slide into an unlocked position thereby releasing the locking bars.

Abstract: A furniture component, such as a cabinet structure, having corner recesses extending vertically of the cabinet structure and each adapted to receive a vertically elongate corner trim element. The corner trim element preferably has a rounded convex configuration on one side thereof, and a generally square corner configuration on the other side thereof. The corner trim element can be positioned in the respective recess in two different orientations so that either the rounded or square corner configurations can be exteriorly exposed. When the square corner configuration is exposed, then the corner trim element also defines therein an accessible vertically elongate groove which accommodates one-half of a connecting element, such as a vertical hinge element, for permitting the corner of the cabinet to be secured to another furniture component, such as another cabinet or an upright wall panel.

Abstract: An integrated anti-rebound mechanism with stop feature for a rail assembly. Two stop/anti-rebound pieces are individually attached at the forward end of a first rail and a second rail of the rail assembly. The stop/anti-rebound pieces engage one another when the first and second rails are in a closed position to prevent the first and second rails from moving beyond a closed position from an extended position. The stop/anti-rebound pieces also cooperate to resist movement of the first and second rails from a closed position. A third rail may be included in the rail assembly including a stop mechanism and an anti-rebound mechanism. The stop and anti-rebound mechanisms cooperate with on of the stop/anti-rebound pieces of the other rail to prevent the third rail from moving beyond a closed position, and to resist movement of the third rail from a closed position in relation to the other rail.

Abstract: A storage cabinet arrangement which involves independent upper and lower cabinets of compatible design and cross section. The lower cabinet can be provided with access through one of the side walls thereof, such as by providing drawers which open through the front or narrow side of the cabinet. The upper cabinet can be provided with an access opening through the side or depth dimension of the cabinet so as to be accessible from and open directly over an adjacent worktop. The upper cabinet can be horiozntally rotated 180.degree. relative to the lower cabinet so as to open either rightwardly or leftwardly relative to the lower cabinet. The upper and lower cabinets stack together through intermediate reveal strips which are removably mounted on the top edges of the lower cabinet. One of the reveal strips can be removed and a worktop support bracket positioned in its place, which bracket projects sidewardly beyond the cabinet and has structure for securing one end of a worktop.

Abstract: A storage cabinet is provided with a front opening for access to the interior thereof, and a door is coupled to the cabinet for movement between a closed position wherein the door extends vertically across the access opening, and an open storage position wherein the door is disposed generally horizontally and is positioned at least in partial overlapping relationship directly over the cabinet top wall. A pair of support mechanisms couple the door to the cabinet housing adjacent the upper corners thereof. The support mechanism includes an intermediate support member which is hinged on a bracket secured adjacent the front edge of the housing top wall for swinging movement about a horizontal hinge axis which is located adjacent the front edge of the top wall. A gear is rotatably supported on the intermediate support member with its rotational axis being spaced radially from the hinge axis. The gear is maintained in continuous meshing engagement with an elongate gear rack which is fixed to the inner side of the door and extends generally perpendicularly between the upper and lower edges thereof. A guide track is also fixed to the inner surface of the door in generally parallel relationship to the gear rack. The intermediate support has a guide part which is slidably engaged with the guide track, and which couples the door to the intermediate support so as to permit solely relative sliding therebetween and hinging generally about the hinge axis.

Abstract: A hand-held probing adapter secures a measurement probing system having a probe body coupled to a probing tip member via at least a first coaxial cable. The adapter has a housing with an interior cavity exposed at opening in opposing ends of the housing. The housing has a first portion at one end of the interior cavity for receiving the probe body and a second portion at the other end of the cavity for receiving the probing tip member. The first portion of the housing has means for securing the probe body in the housing, such as rib and slot combination. The second portion also has means for securing the probe tip member in the housing, such as with a pin in the interior cavity of the housing engaging a slot in the probe tip member. A portion of the probe tip member is exposed at one of the openings in the housing. Compliant members disposed in the second portion of the interior cavity providing axial and lateral rotation movement of the probing tip member.
