Abstract: A method is provided. The method includes attaching a user device to a wireless network via a router of a first communications protocol. The method includes determining, based on information about a second session using a second communications protocol, a first time window and a second time window. The method includes determining to perform a first session using the first communications protocol in the first time window. The method includes performing a first arbitration between the first session and the second session. The method includes determining, based on the first arbitration, that the first session has a priority over the second session in the second time window. The method includes performing a second arbitration between the first session and a third session using a third communications protocol. The method includes determining, based on the second arbitration, whether to perform the first session in the second time window.

Abstract: This disclosure relates to methods for transmission preemption in a wireless local area network. A downlink transmission may be performed by an access point device on a first wireless link. Signaling requesting or indicating preemption of the downlink transmission may be provided from a non-access point device to the access point device on a second wireless link. The downlink transmission may be preempted based at least in part on the signaling requesting or indicating preemption of the downlink transmission.

Abstract: An electronic device has multiple cameras and displays a digital viewfinder user interface for previewing visual information provided by the cameras. The multiple cameras may have different properties such as focal lengths. When a single digital viewfinder is provided, the user interface allows zooming over a zoom range that includes the respective zoom ranges of both cameras. The zoom setting to determine which camera provides visual information to the viewfinder and which camera is used to capture visual information. The user interface also allows the simultaneous display of content provided by different cameras at the same time. When two digital viewfinders are provided, the user interface allows zooming, freezing, and panning of one digital viewfinder independently of the other. The device allows storing of a composite images and/or videos using both digital viewfinders and corresponding cameras.

Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for coding video in applications where regions of video are inactive on a frame to frame basis. According to the techniques, coding processes update and reconstruct only a subset of pixel blocks of pixels within a frame, while other pixel blocks are retained from a previously coded frame stored in a coder's or decoder's reference frame buffer. The technique is called Backward Reference Updating (or “BRU”) for convenience. At a desired pixel block granularity, based on the activity between a current frame to be coded and its reference frame(s), BRU will only perform prediction, transform, quantization, and reconstruction on selected regions that are determined to be active. The reconstructed pixels in these active regions are directly placed onto a specified reference frame in memory instead of creating a new frame. Therefore, fewer memory transfers need to be performed.

Abstract: An electronic device may include a sensor that performs object detection. The sensor may generate sensor data using a polling period. The device may include a neural network that receives the sensor data. The neural network may generate a likelihood score associated with detection of the object based on the sensor data. Control circuitry may adjust the polling period based on the likelihood score to balance power consumption with detection latency. As one example, the sensor may include near-field communications (NFC) circuitry coupled to a coil. The coil may transmit pulses of radio-frequency signals using the polling period. The coil may receive a waveform. The neural network may generate the likelihood score based on the waveform. The likelihood score may be used to detect an NFC device. The neural network may enable detection of subtle features in the waveform with minimal false detections.

Abstract: An electronic device may have first and second rear-facing displays, a front-facing display, a cover at a front side overlapping the front-facing display, and an antenna that radiates through the cover. The cover may have a three-dimensional curvature. The device may have an inner chassis and an outer chassis. The antenna may include a radiating element and a ground trace on a flexible printed circuit. To maximize wireless performance of the antenna, the ground trace may be electrically coupled to as much conductive material in the vicinity of the antenna as possible. For example, the ground trace may be grounded to conductive structures in the front-facing display via a conductive cavity for the antenna, may be grounded directly to the outer chassis using conductive screws, and/or may be grounded directly to the inner chassis using conductive screws.

Abstract: An electronic device such as a power charger may include a conductive contact that conveys power signals. A coating may have adhesion and transition layers on the contact. The coating may have a thin-film interference filter having an uppermost layer that includes diamond-like carbon (DLC). If desired, the thin-film interference filter may have additional DLC layers stacked under the uppermost layer. The DLC layer(s) may include nitrogen to optimize corrosion resistance. The DLC layer(s) may include first and second metal dopants such as tungsten and chromium to optimize the electrical resistance and conductivity of the coating. The coating may exhibit a deep black, grey, and/or blue color.
