Abstract: A thin vehicle seat assembly having a tubular seat and back rest frame, seat and back rest cushion in the form of woven mats and means for attaching the mats to the seat and back rest frames. The woven mats comprise Hytrel elastomeric filaments extending perpendicular to each other and with the mats being prestretched in both directions to at least a 5-10% elongation prior to attachment to their respective frames.
