摘要： A method and an apparatus are provided for controlling component temperature in a wireless transmit receive unit (WTRU) and thereby preventing the component from reaching an undesirable temperature. A method and an apparatus are provided for reducing a value of a maximum allowed transmit power to adjust a data rate. The WTRU adjusts the value of the maximum allowed transmit power resulting in an adjustment to the temperature of the component.
