    摘要: A reader for punched hole cards having a movable housing member containing a coil spring is disclosed, the housing member is actuated by a card inserted in the reader and moved to an activated position against the action of the spring. Secured to the housing member is an air vane governor rotated upon movement of the housing member to an inserted position. Upon release of the card, the card is driven past sensing members by the spring at a constant speed controlled by the rotating air vane governor. Timing means associated with the punched hole configuration of the card being read is provided.

    摘要: A holder for a data pen or similar manually manipulated instrument is provided which is adapted for positioning on a horizontal or vertical surface and comprises a holder segment releasably mounted on an angled base segment. The holder segment includes a socket for holding a light pen, etc. in a stored position. The holder segment is mounted between two positions on the base segment to position the pen at a preferred angle when the base segment is positioned either on a horizontal or vertical surface. The bottom end of the socket is open and extends to a position within an aperture located in the base segment for disposing of dirt deposited in the socket. The base segment is constructed to support electronic apparatus associated with the data pen, etc.

    摘要: A closure latch mechanism has a slide component linearly movable between latched and unlatched positions, the component having a planar body portion with a flat, resiliently bendable member that is formed as an integral part of the body portion and normally located in the plane thereof. The bendable member carries a detent that is adapted and arranged for reception in a stop forming recess or aperture when the slide is at its latched position. The bendable member assumes an unstressed position in the plane of the body portion when the detent is in the recess and is in a stressed position when the slide is unlocked. The detent follows and slidably engages a surface arranged to retain the member in its stressed position as the slide component moves between its latched and unlatched positions so that the detent automatically enters the recess to lock the device when the slide returns to its locked position. One embodiment has a slide with rear and front parts that are relatively pivotally movable and a rail and slide arrangement for use in guiding the slide component along its linear path. In another embodiment, elements that are fixed to the slide component encounter slot forming edges to guide the slide component along its linear path of movement.

    摘要: Bowling balls are returned from the pit area of a bowling alley to a return shroud through a vacuum tube into a lift tube. A transporter assembly is contained within the shroud for decelerating the bowling balls. The shroud includes continuous rails for permitting a high volume of bowling ball storage. In order to reduce the area required for spacing between adjacent bowling alleys, the vacuum tube is installed underneath the plane of the alleys, with the bowling balls fed into the vacuum tube via a vertical tube extending upwardly behind the pin-setting equipment located in the pit area.
