    摘要: A sawdust-reinforced pulp material and its preparation method are herein disclosed Specifically, the method for preparing the sawdust-reinforced pulp material comprises the steps of: mixing 70% to 85% by weight of a pulp prepared from waste paper with 15% to 30% by weight of sawdust, based on the total weight of pulp and sawdust, to prepare a mixture of pulp and sawdust; blending the mixture with an adhesive in the weight ratio of 1:1; pouring the mixture blended with the adhesive into a mold to form a pulp material; and naturally drying the formed pulp material at an ambient temperature of 20 to 25 degrees C to produce the sawdust-reinforced pulp material.

    摘要: A photonic quantum ring (PQR) laser diode with a plurality of laterally extending layers, one on top of another in an axial stack, comprises an active region sandwiched between an n type multi-layer distributed Bragg reflector (DBR) stack and a p type multi-layer DBR stack, wherein, along the circumference of said active region, 3 dimensional radiations are emitted with various wavelengths over a predetermined tuning range, as a function of slanted view angle with respect to the stack axis. The PQR laser shows an ultra-low threshold current of &mgr;A range, T½ dependence of the spectral peak shift and a square law behavior of threshold currents.

    摘要: A system and method for collective data mining from a distributed, vertically partitioned feature space as described. Collective data mining involves a unique approach for finding patterns from a network of databases, each with a distinct feature space. A distributed data mining system from heterogeneous sites is described. The architecture is ideal for accommodating different inductive learning algorithms for data analysis at different sites and includes a scalable approach using a gene expression-based evolutionary algorithm. This approach is used for distributed fault detection in an electrical power distribution network. Further implementations are also described.
