    摘要: Supply circuits for supplying voltage and current signals to light sources (6) comprise switches (22, 32, 42, 52) and controllers (21, 31, 41, 51) to control the switches (22, 32, 42, 52) for reducing values of frequency components of harmonic content of power spectra of the light sources (6). By switching one of the voltage and current signals or by switching signals that result in one of the voltage and current signals, the other one of the voltage and current signals can be adjusted. The power spectrum of the light source (6) may be a function of the voltage and current signals. By adjusting one of them, the power spectrum can be adjusted such that values of frequency components of the harmonic content of the power spectrum are reduced. As a result, visible flicker is reduced in the light originating from the light source (6) without the use of energy storage capacitors for reducing this visible flicker.

    摘要: An electronic ballast capable of extending life of the fluorescent lamp is disclosed. The electronic ballast according to the present invention comprises a DC/AC converter, a fluorescent lamp, a transformer, a preheating transformer and an AC switch. Wherein, the AC switch is turned off during a preheating period of time for the fluorescent lamp. Due to adoption of a preheating transformer in the secondary side and an AC switch for the electronic ballast according to the present invention, the voltage drop across the fluorescent lamp can be reduced during the preheating period of time, and accordingly no glow current would appear. Therefore, life of the electronic ballast can be effectively extended.

    摘要: An electronic ballast capable of extending life of the fluorescent lamp is disclosed. The electronic ballast according to the present invention comprises a DC/AC converter, a fluorescent lamp, a transformer, a preheating transformer and an AC switch. The method comprises the steps of: charging the super capacitor with a first current; measuring a voltage of the super capacitor; stopping the supply of the first current when the measured voltage reaches a pre-defined voltage value; monitoring a voltage variation of the super capacitor; charging the super capacitor with a second current when the monitored voltage variation exceeds a pre-defined threshold within a pre-defined period. By using said two-phase charging, especially when using two different charging currents, it is easier to improve the charging efficiency without degrading the charging speed.

    摘要: The present invention proposes a circuit for converting DC into AC pulsed voltage. The circuit comprises two controllable semiconductor switches. By controlling the opening and closing of the semiconductor switches, the circuit can operate in different modes, i.e. high input voltage mode and low input voltage mode. The circuit for converting DC into AC pulsed voltage, proposed in the present invention, is suitable for a wide input voltage range. When the circuit is used as the driver circuit of a DBD lamp, the DBD lamp can still operate normally by switching to low-voltage DC supply in case of an AC supply failure, and the DBD lamp has a higher luminous efficiency.
