摘要： The present invention is directed to a method for characterizing an individual's risk profile of developing vascular disease, for an adverse outcome in a patient, for mortality in an individual diagnosed with vascular disease by evaluating the level of tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinase-1 (TIMP-1) in a sample taken from the individual. The invention is also directed to a kit for characterizing the same.
