Abstract: A load sense hydraulic system includes pressure sensors that provide feedback to an electronic controller to monitor a pressure margin between a pump supply pressure and an actuator meter-in load pressure. Pre-collapse and collapse of the pressure margin (the collapse indicating a deadhead or stall condition of the actuator), can be tracked by the electronic controller to establish a normal operating pressure margin. The established normal operating pressure margin can be assessed by the controller against a current, actual pressure margin based on feedback from the pressure sensors. A pre-determined threshold variation by the actual pressure margin from the normal operating pressure margin provides an indication of deadhead or stall condition to the controller. The controller may then responsively make modifications to the load sense hydraulic system to remedy the deadhead/stall condition.

Abstract: A connector system includes a fitting body (104) and a union nut (106). A cutting ring (102) is disposed proximate within the fitting body and union nut. The cutting ring includes a first end (136) engaging with the fitting body and having at least one cutting edge, a second end engaging with the union nut, and a radially extending collar (140) disposed between the first end and the second end. The collar having an annular radial surface facing the first end and an annular groove (144) is defined within the radial surface. A cylindrical outer surface having a first diameter is disposed between the radial surface and the first end, and a transition area is defined from the outer surface towards the radial surface. The transition area being angled radially inward such that the transition area has a second diameter that is less than the first diameter. An elastomeric seal (146) is disposed within the annular groove.

Abstract: A system and method for the controlled lowering and lifting of a load are disclosed. The system and method may include operating a work machine having a hydraulic system including a hydraulic actuator for supporting a load, a first control valve in fluid communication with the actuator, and a controller for operating the first control valve. In one embodiment, the controller includes a first algorithm for operating the first control valve in a load lowering operation. When an operational fault within the hydraulic system is detected, the controller can be configured to enter into a safe lowering mode. In the safe lowering mode, the first algorithm is disabled and a pulse width modulation (PWM) current is sent from the controller to the first control valve. A user interface is provided to allow an operator to control the PWM current duty ratio to allow the load supported by the actuator to be lowered.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a motion control unit that is capable of receiving electrical power from an electrical power source and hydraulic power from a hydraulic power source. The motion control is configured to produce a blended power output derived from the electrical and hydraulic power which can be used to power a hydraulic actuator. The motion control unit can also split hydraulic power recovered from hydraulic actuator to the electrical power source and the hydraulic power source.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a hydraulic valve that has a two-stage con-struction that provides for higher fluid flow and lower power consumption. The present disclosure also relates to a hydraulic valve that may be constructed to include a pilot-poppet, a pilot-poppet valve seat, and a main-poppet. The main-poppet may be mechanically isolated from the pilot-poppet by the pilot-poppet valve seat.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a blended or hybrid power system with increased operating efficiency. The blended power system combines the advantages of electrical power with the advantages of hydraulic power when delivering power to a hydraulic actuator. The hydraulic power provides higher power density and the electrical power provides high efficiency and control accuracy in the blended power system. In a blended power system, a control system may be configured to select different modes of operation based on the loads encountered in the combined hydraulic and electrohydrostatic system. The blended power system also allows for smooth and uninterrupted transitions between the different modes of operation within the blended power system. Thus, jerkiness in the blended power system may be minimized or eliminated.
