Abstract:
A seating system includes a load bearing shelf which is provided for carrying seats, cargo and the like. The shelf is slideably supported on opposite ends in spaced, parallel, horizontally extending tracks mounted longitudinally in the vehicle. Seats may be removably and lockably mounted to the shelf which, upon removal, allows use of the shelf for storage and other functions. The shelf is removable, and may be reversibly reinstalled in a front-to-rear reversed orientation and locked into various positions. Further, the shelf may include upper and lower convenience structural features such as pockets, sliding trays, and compartments.
Abstract:
A first visor is mounted to a vehicle by a first pivot rod for movement between a raised stored position and a lowered use position, and a second visor is mounted to the vehicle by a second pivot rod for pivoting the second visor between a raised stored position and lowered use position including a position generally orthogonal to the first visor for providing front and side window protection. The pivot rods are aligned in end-to-end relationship which allows the nested mounting of the visors when the visors are in a stored position adjacent each other.
Abstract:
An electrical transmission control employs in one embodiment, a rotary dial switch as a gear selector control which includes a plug means for connecting the switch directly into a receiving socket mounted to the vehicle. In a preferred embodiment, the vehicle includes a plurality of sockets such that the gear selector control can be mounted at a preferred one of the locations. In another embodiment, the selector switch is a slide type switch. The switch can be removed from the socket and/or vehicle for providing anti-theft security preventing the transmission from being shifted without the gear selected control.
Abstract:
A visor body includes a guide for receiving a slide member having an auxiliary shield made of a flexible material which can be moved from a collapsed stored position to an extended position when the slide member is moved from its retracted position within the visor body to an extended use position increasing the width of the visor. In an alternative embodiment, the visor body itself is split into two sections which are slidably interfitted to allow them to extend away from one another for providing an increased width visor for added sunblocking capability.
Abstract:
An adjustable storage system is provided which includes a flat base, an upstanding fixed side attached to the base, and an adjustable slideable side which slides laterally on the base and cooperates with the fixed side to provide lateral support and containment for packages placed therebetween. A guiding mechanism allows the sliding side to move freely. The system further includes a locking mechanism to secure the slideable side in a given location. The slideable side also includes a hand grip and thumb control button operably connected to the locking mechanism to lock and unlock the slideable side. The preferred embodiment also includes a telescoping member which extends between the fixed and slideable sides to support the sides and to prevent packages from tipping.
