Abstract: The present invention relates to a folder apparatus including a first cylinder for transporting a product and a folding cylinder rotatably engaged with the first cylinder at a nip. A product guiding device is assigned to a transition area between surfaces of the first cylinder and the folding cylinder, the guiding device having a smoothing element which includes different sections of product contacting elements being angled in opposite directions.
