    摘要: A method is provided for device detection by a base station comprising receiving a plurality of signals over a preamble subframe from an endpoint. The plurality of signals are attempting to access an access group of the preamble subframe. Additionally, the plurality of signals are received on a random access channel using a wireless network. Further, the plurality of signals have a plurality of last gasp messages (LGMs). The method additionally comprises determining an allowable rate of collisions for the plurality of signals and determining an actual rate of collisions for the plurality of signals. The method includes increasing the size of the access group allocated to the plurality of signals having the plurality of LGMs, based on whether the actual rate of collisions exceeds the allowable rate of collisions.

    摘要: Interference levels occurring at one or more stations are mapped, and a reuse pattern is generated, based on the mapped interference levels, including one or more reuse sets of stations capable of sharing a transmission resource. The stations within each reuse set are listed in increasing order based on their respective interference levels, and an additional station is added to a reuse set, as long as the cumulative interference level within the reuse set is below a threshold interference level and the additional station is not already listed in another reuse set. A network schedule is updated based on the reuse pattern to increase bandwidth efficiency in the network.

    摘要: A transmission method for use in a multi-hop wireless communication system is provided. The system includes a source apparatus, a destination apparatus and one or more intermediate apparatuses. The system has access to at least one predetermined transmission introduction sequence and also has access to a time-frequency format for use in assigning available transmission frequency bandwidth during a discrete transmission interval, said format defining a plurality of transmission windows within such an interval. Each window occupies a different part of that interval and has a frequency bandwidth profile within said available transmission frequency bandwidth over its part of that interval. Each said window being assignable for such a transmission interval to at least one of said apparatuses for use in transmission. The method includes, when transmitting a message with a preamble in a particular transmission interval, transmitting the preamble in a first transmission window of that transmission interval. Furthermore, the method includes transmitting the transmission introduction sequence in a second transmission window of that transmission interval other than the first transmission window preferably as control information for use by at least one said intermediate apparatus or the destination apparatus.

    摘要: According to one embodiment, a method for wireless communication includes coupling a base station to a network access device. The network access device provides access to an Internet service provider network. The method also includes determining, at the base station, a plurality of available communication channels of a wireless service provider network that may be utilized to communicate with an endpoint. In addition, the method includes determining, at the base station, at least one interference power measurement for at least one channel of the plurality of channels. Further, the method includes determining, at the base station, at least one average interference power for at least one channel of the plurality of channels utilizing the at least one interference power measurement. The method also includes automatically selecting a channel for communication with the endpoint in response to determining the at least one average interference power. Moreover, the method includes providing the endpoint access to the wireless service provider network utilizing the Internet service provider network via the selected channel.

The method also includes receiving RF channel re-provisioning information from the wireless service provider's network and re-provisioning the RF channel. The method further includes participating in a hand-off procedure to hand-off the endpoints to the re-provisioned RF channel.
