摘要： Provided is a backlight assembly which includes integral power supply sockets and ground sockets, in which the number of parts is reduced in addition to the manufacturing cost. The backlight assembly includes a lamp including a lamp tube and an electrode that protrudes beyond either end of the lamp tube, a power supply socket including a first plate that has a first guide groove through which the electrode is inserted and a plate spring that is disposed on one side of the first plate and fixes the electrode in the first guide groove by pressurizing the electrode, and a bottom chassis containing the lamp and the power supply socket therein, in which the first plate and the plate spring are formed of a conductive material.

摘要： A lamp socket includes a socket housing and a plurality of power supply members. The socket housing has a plurality of connecting holes extended in a vertical direction. The power supply members are disposed in the connecting holes, respectively, and each of the power supply members includes a plurality of lamp connecting parts and an inverter connecting part. The lamp connecting parts are protruded from an upper surface of the socket housing and include first and second portions facing each other. The inverter connecting part is integrally formed with the lamp connecting parts, and is protruded from a lower surface of the socket housing.

摘要： A backlight assembly includes a container, a plurality of lamps and a lamp-fixing member. The container includes a bottom face and side faces extending therefrom that define a receiving space. The lamps are arranged in parallel with each other in the container. The lamp-fixing member includes a support body installed in the container and arranged in a direction intersecting a lengthwise direction of extension of each of the lamps, a lamp-fixing portion protruding from the support body and covering a respective lamp, and a boss protruding from an inner face of the lamp-fixing portion and extending toward a center of the respective lamp to fix the respective lamp with a corresponding lamp-fixing portion via a point or line contact. Thus, a local decrease in temperature of the lamp covered by the lamp-fixing portion may be prevented to improve image display quality by preventing or eliminating dark spots.

摘要： In a backlight assembly and an LCD apparatus including a receiving unit formed by an injection molding process, a plurality of sidewalls is protruded from a bottom plate, and a receiving space is defined by the sidewalls and the bottom plate. A strength-reinforcing member is formed on a rear surface of the bottom plate to thereby reinforce a bending strength of the bottom plate. Accordingly, the receiving unit for receiving a lamp unit is formed using a material used with an injection molding process, and the strength-reinforcing member reinforces the bending strength of the bottom plate. Cost and weight of the backlight assembly and the LCD apparatus may be sufficiently reduced.

The receiving container includes a bottom plate having an opening portion, and defines a receiving space for receiving the display panel and the backlight assembly. The light-blocking member is disposed at a backside surface of the light-reflecting sheet. Therefore, heat generated from the light source is easily dissipated through the opening to enhance display quality.
