摘要: A knee replacement prosthesis includes a distal femoral implant, including a femoral head portion, including an outer arcuate surface, and interior posterior surface, an interior distal surface disposed at a first angle with respect to the interior posterior surface, and a first interior intermediate surface joining the interior posterior surface and the interior distal surface and being disposed at a second angle with respect to the interior posterior surface and at a third angle with respect to the interior distal surface. The distal femoral implant includes stackable femoral spacers secured to at least one of the interior posterior surface and the interior distal surface, thereby adjusting an aggregate spacing between the interior posterior surface and/or the interior distal surface and a resected surface of a distal femur of the patient. A tibial implant is also provided. Related methods of use of either implant or both are also provided.

摘要: A humeral implant is provided. The implant includes a humeral stem including a plurality of fins. At least one fin comprises a serrated bottom edge. A radial distance between an inner bottom edge of the at least one fin and a centerline of the humeral implant increases along a distal length of extension of the at least one fin. At least the serrated bottom edge of the at least one fin is configured to cut into and compact bone of the metaphysis of a humerus toward relatively denser cancellous bone of a peripheral portion of the humerus when press-fit therein, thereby providing sufficient press-fitting for cementless fixation of the humeral stem into the humerus. Related kits and methods are also provided.

摘要: A method of utilizing a distractor in a joint replacement procedure is provided. The method includes releasably engaging a datum to a datum securement of the distractor and gripping a handle of the distractor in an insertion position. The handle includes a first handle portion and a second handle portion. The method includes disposing a paddle of a tissue engaging portion of the distractor against a tissue surface and adjusting the handle from the insertion position to the distraction position to thereby independently move the paddle with respect to both the second handle portion and the first handle portion such that the paddle remains at a generally constant angle against the tissue surface as the tissue surface is distracted. The paddle is attached directly and exclusively to a distal tip of the second handle portion such that the paddle pivots about an axis transverse to a length of the handle.

A system according to one embodiment includes a longitudinal member configured to be received within the humeral shaft. The system includes a jig assembly configured to be coupled to the longitudinal member, wherein the jig assembly includes at least one hole defined therethrough that is configured to guide placement of at least one hole in the humeral shaft, and wherein the hole formed in the humeral shaft is configured to align with at least one hole in the humeral implant such that the jig assembly is configured to locate the position of the humeral implant in the humeral shaft.

摘要: Disclosed is a tapered femoral hip stem implant for use in total hip replacement surgery. The implant is constructed using anthropomorphic data to obtain an optimal configuration for use in hip replacement surgery as well as to promote bone regrowth in the anterior proximal dimensions. In certain aspects, the implant is particularly well suited for use in an anterior approach to total hip replacement surgery due to its relatively small stem length. The implant includes a 12 degree proximal taper, which affords inherent fixation and rotational stability and a 4 degree distal taper to reduce the possibility of stress shielding.
