The legacy module is an older module that communicates with legacy chassis through at least two legacy module connectors on the legacy module and at least two chassis connectors on the legacy chassis. Next, a connector plate with a front side and a back side is attached to the improved electronic module that communicates to the font side of the connector plate with fewer that the at least two legacy module connectors. The method attaches the connector plate and the improved electronic module to legacy chassis so that an equal a number of connectors on the back side of the connector plate communicate with an equal number of legacy chassis connectors on the legacy chassis.

A method and apparatus for cooling modules in a radio system is disclosed. The apparatus comprises an adaptor module with side walls and integrated heat exchanging elements. The adaptor module adapts the air flow from a chassis in the radio system such that the exiting ducting on the chassis efficiently mate with the air conduits in the modules. The adaptor allows the use of new high power density modules in the existing chassis without changing the module design. The use of adaptor module in chassis provides efficient cooling and use less volume in the chassis.

The module connector connects to an electronic module within the opening. The legacy chassis and the advanced chassis do not expect signals from the same number chassis conductors. An ink development unit is disclosed for liquid electro photography (LEP) printers or the like. An exemplary squeegee on PIP (photo imaging plate) (or “SOP”) ink development unit for a liquid electro photography (LEP) printer system includes an ink dispenser configured to dispense ink during a printing operation. A developer roller having a compliant surface is positioned in contact with a PIP during a printing operation. The developer roller directly receives the ink dispensed from the ink dispenser. The developer roller squeegees the ink dispensed from the ink dispenser into an ink layer with higher solids concentration for development onto an image area on the PIP.
