摘要： This disclosure relates to a carton in the form of a story book wherein the carton includes first and second sections hinged together opening in a book opening-like action with the first section being of a hollow construction for receiving a product therein and including inner and outer panels with a support panel assembly interconnecting the inner and outer panels, the support panel assembly having a free edge portion disposed in face-toface readily separable relation to the inner face of the outer panel along a free edge of the outer panel remote from the second section and cooperating therewith to define a locking flap anchoring slot, the formation of the anchoring slot utilizing solely the support panel assembly in conjunction with the outer panel while at the same time in no way detracting from the function of the support panel assembly.

摘要： A package characterized by a double row of product containers which are in the form of tubs each having its side wall tapering downwardly and inwardly from an outwardly directed top flange on the top face of which the margins of a sheet-like cover member are sealed, and a wrapper forming blank of foldable sheet material which is tightly drawn about the top, bottom and oppositely disposed portions of the inner side walls of the containers and forms the top wall into a generally convex or relatively shallow peaked contour in close contact with top portions of the container cover members so as to prevent damage thereto, with a relatively narrow gusset panel at each end of the tube formed by the wrapper which depends from a hinge line formed by inwardly bowed or inwardly directed scores and which is held at opposite ends by a folded web section integrally connected to the associated side wall of the wrapper.

摘要： An apparatus for fabricating cup-like containers from blanks of paperboard or other foldable sheet material, which containers are characterized by a bottom wall panel of polygonal shape and a side wall formed by two panels which are integrally hinged to oppositely disposed edges of the bottom wall panel so that they may be folded upwardly and the end portions connected by heat seals, the apparatus comprising a series of forming mandrels carried on an endless conveyor which is supported for movement in a horizontal plane with a run thereof advancing past a series of successive work stations at which folding and sealing operations are performed. At the first work station container forming blanks are fed, one by one, from a stack, and positioned on the successive mandrels, with the side wall panels of each blank being folded down about the side walls of the mandrel for engagement by clamp members which are associated with each mandrel. At subsequent stations ends of the side wall panels are heated to activate a seam forming adhesive thereon and seams are formed by folding shoes carried on swinging arms which fold the side wall panels against the mandrels to bring the ends thereof into seam forming relation. Thereafter bottom sealing tabs which are hinged to the bottom forming edges of the side walls are sealed onto the bottom wall panel by folding rollers, the clamps are withdrawn and each formed container is lifted from the mandrel and transferred to an edge wetting and rolling apparatus disposed at the end of the mandrel conveyor, which completes the container and discharges it from the machine.
