摘要： A method and a software product is described for managing the evolution of changes and updates to a patient identification system. In a patient identification system, the data may have errors or inconsistencies which preclude automatic matching of the data for an input data record, representing a person being admitted to a hospital, with a patient object in a data base, the patient object representing a unique individual. The method includes identifying the input data records that cannot be automatically matched, and manually matching the records to objects. The manual steps are recorded and used to develop updates to the software product. The input data is again processed by the patient identification method and the amount of improvement in, or the error in, the association is used to determine when the updated software may be installed.
