摘要:
A root canal is sequentially cleaned in sections from the crown to the apex. An opening is first formed into the tooth to provide access into the root canal. The opening is preferably rectified to remove obstructions from fully accessing the anatomical root canal. The pulp material is then sequentially removed from the portion of the root canal above the apical portion of the root canal with a first set of instruments and then from the apical portion with a second set of instruments. Cleaning of the pulp material from the root canal also shapes the root canal to ease filling of the root canal with a filling material. Each instrument comprises a handle connected to a file. Each file has an abrading portion and terminates at a tip. The files used to clean the portion of the root canal above the apical portion have properties which enable the abrading portion of the file to conform to the configuration of the root canal while simultaneously moving the file in a cleaning motion.

A root canal is sequentially cleaned in sections from the crown to the apex by dividing it into three sections including an operative coronal portion, an operative middle portion and an apical portion. An operative phase corresponds with each section and specific instrumentation is used in each phase. After an opening is formed into the tooth to provide access into the root canal, the opening is preferably rectified to remove obstructions so that the anatomical root canal can be fully accessed. The pulp material is then sequentially removed from the portion of the root canal above the apical portion of the root canal with a set of instruments and then from the apical portion with another set of instruments. An optional set of instruments can also be used to improve the access into the apical portion such that irrigants can be delivered to the apical portion. Cleaning of the pulp material from the root canal also shapes the root canal to ease filling of the root canal with a filling material. The root canal preparation and shaping are completed while maintaining the original anatomy of the root canal.

An endodontic irrigator tip includes a hub and a cannula coupled to the hub. The hub includes a neck having a distal stop end which ensheathes the proximal portion of the cannula. The distal stop end is angled with respect to the longitudinal axis of the hub. The stop end prevents the insertion of the cannula beyond a desired distance, thereby preventing perforation of the apex of the root canal. The stop end has a substantially greater diameter than the diameter of the cannula Thus, the stop end of the neck rests on the occlusal surface of the crown of the tooth while the cannula extends the desired distance within the root canal.

Disclosed herein is a canal instrument for eliminating interference and achieving the widening of the opening and the contemporaneous flared reaming of the first two-thirds of the dental radicular canals, the instrument being designed in such a way that over the full length it progressively reduces in thickness towards the tip, while the cutting part that extends from the terminal part or the instrument coupling section to an endodontic drill only extends for a part of the working length.

An endodontic instrument for the irrigation of a dental radicular canal accompanied by aspiration of reflux liquid from said canals comprises at least two separate inlet ducts for irrigation liquid, and a third or outlet duct for aspiration of liquid reflowing from the irrigated radicular canals. It comprises further a needle holder head having two inner chambers, one communicating with the inlet ducts and the other one with the outlet duct. The head carries, firmly fixed thereto, a hollow needle for conveying the irrigation liquids to the radicular canal. The head has moveably fitted thereon an aspiration spout coaxial to the needle and movable in both directions with respect to the needle, as to make it possible to vary the depth of penetration of the needle into the radicular canal while the aspiration spout remains in a fixed position at the opening of the pulp cavity of the tooth.

A root canal is sequentially cleaned in sections from the crown to the apex by dividing it into three sections including an operative coronal portion, an operative middle portion and an apical portion. The pulp material is then sequentially removed from the portion of the root canal above the apical portion of the root canal with a set of instruments having stainless steel files. The apical portion is then cleaned with another set of instruments that have nickel/titanium files. An optional set of instruments can also be used to improve the access into the apical portion such that irrigants can be delivered to the apical portion.

A stop for limiting the depth of penetration of an elongated dental instrument usable in an endodontic operation. A diametrically bifurcated disc having a central instrument-receiving bore is comprised of two disc halves disposed in use with the elongated dental instrument extending through the central bore and clamped between the disc halves. A resilient snap-ring is seated in a circumferentially grooved lateral surface of the bifurcated disc to secure the two disc halves in position with the elongated dental instrument clamped therebetween.
