    摘要: Mesoporous, alumina compositions having an average pore diameter substantially ranging from about 15 .ANG. to about 40 .ANG. and an average surface area of no less than about 500 meter square/gram are disclosed. These materials can be formed by treating an aluminum source that is derived from an aluminum alkoxide in an organic-aqueous solution with an organic structured directing agent to form meso-sized micelles followed by calcination of the resulting composition. Appropriate organic structural directing agents are alkyl carboxylic acids.
