摘要: A device for modifying the shape of a mitral valve annulus. In one embodiment, the device includes a connector disposed between first and second anchors, the first and second anchors each adapted to be deployed in a coronary sinus adjacent the mitral valve annulus to anchor the device in the coronary sinus; and an actuation element adapted to receive a proximally or distally directed actuation force from an actuator and to transmit the actuation force to the first and second anchors simultaneously. The invention also includes a system for modifying the shape of a mitral valve annulus, including a percutaneous deployment apparatus, including an actuator; and a percutaneous mitral valve annuloplasty device with a connector disposed between first and second anchors, the first and second anchors each adapted to be deployed in a coronary sinus adjacent the mitral valve annulus to anchor the device in the coronary sinus; and an actuation element adapted to receive a distally proximally directed actuation force from the actuator and to transmit the actuation force to the first and second anchors simultaneously. The invention also includes a method of using such devices and systems.

摘要: A catheter including an elongate drive shaft having a proximal end and a distal end, an ablation burr disposed at the distal end expandable between a first position and a second position, wherein in the second position has a greater transverse dimension than in the first position. The catheter of the present invention can include a mechanism for positioning the burr eccentrically within a vessel lumen. In this context, expansion means that the burr can ablate a lumen having a larger diameter than the diameter of the lumen of the guide catheter to which the device is advanced.

摘要: A method for treating loosely formed, friable or fragile lesions in a patient's blood vessel. A catheter having a pair of sealing mechanisms is advanced such that the sealing mechanisms are positioned distal to and proximal to the lesion. The sealing mechanisms are activated to seal the vessel on either side of the lesion. A medication is then delivered through the catheter to the sealed area of the vessel. The medication interacts with the lesion in order to partially or completely solidify it. Once the lesion is solidified, the catheter is removed and the lesion can be treated with a conventional intravascular device.
