摘要:
An improved dispersant material for mitigating crude oil fouling comprises a reaction product of a polyamine and a polyisobutylene succinyl anhydride made with a polyisobutylene having a vinylidene double bond content of at least 50%. The reaction product has an active nitrogen atom content of at least about 2% by weight. The reaction product is prepared by thermally reacting the polyisobutylene with maleic anhydride to produce said polyisobutylene succinyl anhydride and thereafter reacting the polyisobutylene succinyl anhydride with a polyamine having 5 to 7 active nitrogen atoms.

A new and novel process is described for preparing an aromatic pitch having a high liquid crystal fraction and being suitable for carbon artifact manufacture, such as for the manufacture of pitch carbon fiber.
摘要:
A pitch suitable for carbon artifact manufacture, such as the manufacture of carbon fibers, is obtained by heat-soaking an asphaltene fraction of a heavy aromatic feedstock at a temperature of about 380.degree.-440.degree. C. for about 1-500 minutes.
摘要:
A spinnable precursor from petroleum pitch is obtained by isolating a particular fraction of a molten carbonaceous pitch, which has had at least a portion of the polycondensed aromatic oils normally present in the pitch removed. The deoiled pitch is then subjected to a two-stage extraction in an organic solvent in which it has a reversed solubility curve, followed by thermal treatment. The thus obtained precursor can be directly spun into fiber.

A process for removing asphaltenes present in cat cracker bottoms is disclosed. Basically, the process requires removal of at least a portion of the polynuclear aromatic oils present in the cat cracker bottom, for example, by vacuum stripping, whereby the asphaltenes are thereafter capable of being extracted from the so-treated cat cracker bottom. Heat soaking of the asphaltene-free cat cracker bottom results in a pitch particularly suitable for carbon artifact manufacture.
摘要:
A low coking pitch suitable for carbon artifact manufacture, especially carbon fiber manufacture, is obtained by heat soaking and vacuum stripping the distillate recovered from cat cracker bottoms. Preferably a cat cracker bottom distillate boiling in the range of about 450.degree. C. to 510.degree. C. at 760 mm Hg is heat soaked at about 350.degree. C. to about 500.degree. C. for up to about 20 hours and then vacuum stripped at below 400.degree. C.
摘要:
A process and a product of the process for preparing a pitch suitable for carbon artifact manufacture features a pitch having a weight content of between 80 and 100 percent toluene insolubles. The pitch is derived from a deasphaltenated middle fraction of a steam cracker tar feedstock. The middle fraction is rich in 2, 3, 4, and 5 polycondensed aromatic rings. The pitch is characterized as being relatively free of impurities and ash.
摘要:
A feedstock for carbon artifact manufacture is obtained from a steam cracker tar by heat soaking the steam cracker tar or a vacuum stripped steam cracker tar with a polycondensed aromatic oil thereby providing a pitch suitable for carbon artifact manufacture.
摘要:
The present invention contemplates a process for preparing a feedstock for carbon artifact manufacture comprising treating a carbonaceous pitch, which has at least a portion of the polycondensed aromatic oils normally present in the pitch removed, at temperatures in the range generally of from about 350.degree. C. to about 450.degree. C. and for times ranging from several minutes to about 10 hours. Optionally an isotropic carbonaceous pitch is heated at temperatures in the range of about 350.degree. to about 450.degree. C. while simultaneously vacuum stripping the pitch to remove at least a portion and generally greater than 40% of the aromatic oils in the pitch thereby simultaneously removing the aromatic oils from the pitch while conducting the heat treatment.

A crude oil composition wherein fouling has been mitigating and a method for mitigating crude oil fouling. The composition includes crude oil and an improved dispersant material for mitigating fouling which comprises a reaction product of a polyamine and a polyisobutylene succinyl anhydride made with a polyisobutylene having a vinylidene double bond content of at least 50%. The method includes providing the dispersant material and dispersing the same in crude oil.
