摘要: An external portion of an auditory prosthesis includes magnets, electronics, and other components. In bone conduction auditory prostheses, reducing the amount of mass subject to vibrations in an auditory prosthesis has a positive effect on tuning of the device. One way of reducing such mass is to resiliently more massive components within the auditory prosthesis housing. Such resilient mounting reduces the dampening effect that these massive components have on vibrations generated by the prosthesis. When electronic components are suspended, feedback to said components is also reduced, resulting improved performance.

摘要: An external portion of an auditory prosthesis includes an external magnet that interacts with an implanted magnet to hold the external portion against the skin of a recipient. A magnetic component can be disposed proximate either or both of the external magnet or implanted magnet to channel the magnetic field associated therewith. The magnetic component can be moved relative to its associated magnet so as to adjust the magnetic field, and thus, the retention force between the magnets.

摘要: Presented herein are non-surgical or superficial wearable bands for facilitating hearing. In one embodiment, a wearable band in accordance with embodiments presented herein comprises a frame that is shaped to be positioned around a head of a user. The wearable band further comprises at least one drive plate or adapter configured to be disposed around a section of the frame, wherein the adapter is configured to deliver vibration to the head of the user. A vibration isolation member is disposed between the frame and the adapter. The vibration isolation member is configured to isolate the frame from the vibration at the adapter.

摘要: A resilient element is used to bias a vibration element of an auditory prosthesis towards the skin of a recipient. This helps improve transmission of vibration stimuli to the recipient. Additionally, the resilient element helps reduce feedback caused by the vibration element vibrating in close proximity to sound processing components contained within the auditory prosthesis.
