A multimedia interface device for the transfer of information in a communications network comprises, at least two connection means to which, respectively, at least two sending devices can get connected by means respectively of two communications links compliant respectively with two protocols; means of connection to a single remote switching device by means of a single cable, the switching device comprising at least switching means between at least two ports; means to mix the information sent out by sending devices into only one stream of information in the form of segments being able to contain part of the information; and means to transfer the stream of information in the form of segments on at least one pair of cable to the switching device to which it is connected according to a third protocol.

An electronic apparatus comprises means of connection to a wall socket, at least one user interface means and at least one interface module between the user interface means and the connection means. This electronic apparatus comprises at least one elastic means in contact with the wall when the connection means is plugged into the wall socket, so as to stabilize the electronic apparatus in a predetermined position relative to the wall and means for disconnecting the connection means from the wall socket, the at least one elastic means cooperating with the disconnecting means to facilitate the disconnection of the electronic apparatus. More particularly, the disclosure is situated in a communications network comprising such electronic apparatuses.

A system for the dissipation of heat in at least one electronic device in a home network comprises at least one electronic device connected to a central unit (100) by a link (60a, 60b, 60c, 60d) comprising means (40a, 40b, 40c, 40d) able to transport data. This system is such that the heat dissipation is obtained by circulation of air through the link connecting the electronic device to the central unit. More particularly, the system and apparatus of the invention are situated in a home communications network comprising multimedia connection interfaces and an interconnection module.

A connection device that is capable of receiving a corresponding connection plug comprises a housing, an electronic board connected to at least one cable of a communications network capable of conveying data as well as electrical energy. This device comprises a movable part between the housing and the electronic board comprising conductive elements used to make the link between the electrical contacts of the plug and the electrical contacts of the electronic board, the movable part taking at least two positions, a first position known as a position of insertion or withdrawal of the plug, in which the link for the passage of electrical energy cannot be made, and a second position known as a position of operation in which the inserted plug is held and the link for the passage of electrical energy can be made.
