摘要: Provided is a split mechanical seal split along the circumferential direction of the seal, wherein the accuracy of assembling the mechanical seal and the accuracy of the assembling at each split contact surface are enhanced, assembling workability in a site is drastically enhanced by providing each part of the seal with a temporary fitting function, and leakage is eliminated. A split mechanical seal has split ring fitting holes into which split rings having a rectangular cross-section are fitted. The split ring fitting holes are formed over the entire length in the circumferential direction of the seal between split sealing rings and split flanges. The split rings are mounted in the split ring fitting holes with the phases of the split sealing rings and the split flanges shifted from each other such that one end of each split ring projects from a split contact surface.
