摘要： Compositions and methods for targeting polypeptides to plant vacuoles are provided. Nucleic acid molecules having nucleotide sequences encoding a vacuole-targeting peptide, variants, or fragments thereof are provided. The sequences also can be used for targeting defensin proteins or other polypeptides to vacuoles in plants. Transformed plants, plant cells, tissues, and seed also are provided.
