    摘要： A system and method for using an alias to conduct financial transactions at a merchant is provided. The system and method allows a user to provide an alias identifying the user or a business in order to conduct transactions without needing to know or provide actual account numbers. Aliases are associated with users and businesses and can be linked to financial accounts of the user and business. When the method determines that the user is attempting to conduct a transaction using the alias, the method determines the account number associated with the alias and completes the transaction using the alias. The method may also evaluate the transaction to determine whether pre-determined rules are complied with and provide confirmation to the user that the transaction has completed.

    摘要： Embodiments of the invention provide a method of populating a list of transaction participants with the aliases of individuals and entities that can participate in P2P transactions. In some embodiments, the list of transaction participants is a list of payment recipients to whom the user can make P2P payments and the list is populated with a third party's alias. In other embodiments, the list of transaction participants in a list of recipients to whom a third party can make P2P payments and the list is populated with the user's alias. In some embodiments, a method is provided that includes: (1) receiving information associated with a party to a financial transaction with a user; (2) determining, at least partially on the information associated with the party, that the party can participate in a P2P transaction with the user; and (3) populating a list of P2P transaction participants with an alias identifier.
