In other words, an angle formed by the surface 52-1 of the glass material portion 52A facing the gap S3 and a surface 5602 of the curved portion 58 of the sealed metal foil 56 is the obtuse angle φ.

    摘要: A method and an apparatus for manufacture of a cathode-ray tube where an electron gun for emitting a plurality of electron beams is enclosed in a tube body with discrete electrodes disposed individually to such beams and joint electrodes disposed commonly to the beams. The method comprises the steps of incorporating the electron gun in the tube body and applying high-frequency induction heat principally to the joint electrodes to thereby evacuate and seal up the tube body; flashing a getter material; and disposing at least a pair of cored coils on both sides of the tube body at positions opposite to the discrete electrodes disposed individually to the plurality of beams, and applying high-frequency induction heat principally to the discrete electrodes. Meanwhile, the apparatus is equipped with a high-frequency induction heating device having a pair of cored coils to execute the electron gun heating with certainty, hence realizing satisfactory manufacture of a high-reliability cathode-ray tube having a long service life.

    摘要: A mount for supporting a cathode-ray tube is employed in a frit sealing furnace. The frit seal furnace (1) comprises a furnace body (3) and conveyor belts (5) disposed in the furnace body (3) for feeding mounts (21) which each support a panel (31) and a funnel (32) that are superposed one on the other with a frit glass (33) interposed therebetween. Each of the conveyor belts (5) is composed of a pair of chain belts (4a, 4b). The mount (21) is placed on the conveyor belts (5) in the frit seal furnace (1) through a space which comprises a mesh screen (26), so that the mount (21) is suitable for use in the frit seal furnace (1). When the tube body of a cathode-ray tube is broken, glass pieces are prevented from falling onto the furnace floor by the mesh screen. The mesh screen does not obstruct air flows in the furnace.
