Vinyl acetate can be readily separated from ethyl acetate by means of extractive distillation using certain glycols or glycol ethers. Typical effective agents are 2-methyl -2,4-pentanediol, 1,3-butanediol, ethylene glycol methyl ether and diethylene glycol ethyl ether.
