Abstract:
Systems and methods for remote management of storage facilities are disclosed herein. One aspect of the invention is directed toward a central management system including a server, and several managed facilities. Each facility is operated by at least one programmable logic controller (PLC), which gathers data regarding the operation of the facility and stores the data locally at the facility or sends the data back to the server. The server is configured to respond to requests from known web browsers to provide near real-time information to users concerning the storage facility.
Abstract:
A laser system comprises a reflective chamber capable of housing a laser medium and at least two laser diodes emitting light at different respective wavelengths into the reflective chamber. The wavelength of each respective laser diode may be selected to minimize fluctuations in absorption by the laser medium of light emitted by the diode bars as the wavelength of each respective laser diode changes due to changes in an operating temperature of the laser system. The wavelength of each respective laser diode may be selected such that absorption by the laser medium of the wavelength of light emitted by one laser diode increases and absorption by the laser medium of the wavelength of light emitted by another laser diode decreases as the operating temperature changes within a predefined range.
Abstract:
A snow shovel having a main handle and an auxiliary handle. The auxiliary handle is attached to the main handle by means of a flexible material having a slot in it. The slot separates the flexible member into two parts that function as a hinge. The two parts of the flexible member are fixed to the main handle and to the auxiliary handle respectively.
Abstract:
Systems and methods for refrigerating crops and other goods and for defrosting a refrigeration system. A refrigerant is circulated between a condenser and a refrigerator to cool air in the refrigerator. Heat is removed from the refrigerant at the condenser. Periodically the cycle of refrigerant and air can be reversed to melt frost in the refrigerator. Frost can be detected by a sensing mechanism and the refrigerant and air cycles can be reversed in response to detecting the frost. The frost can be removed quickly without removing the goods from the refrigerant.

Abstract:
A compact, reliable and convenient drywall-sheet trimmer has opposed cutter disks (7, 8) positioned rotationally in opposing walls (3, 4) of a trimmer channel (2) having a slide bar (19) that is adjustable in positioning intermediate the opposing cutter disks and a channel bottom (21). Pinion teeth (25) on an adjustment shaft (24) are rotated by helical worm gearing (28) with an adjustment knob (30) to actuate rack teeth (26) on slide rods (22) attached to the slide bar for adjusting distance of the slide bar from the cutter disks to control widths of trimming cuts. Surfaces of drywall sheets (6) are scored or cut to cause the drywall sheets to be breakable by applying bending moment along lines of scored or cut surface material and/or indentations caused by cutting entry of the opposed cutter disks.
