    Abstract: A mixing valve has a housing, a fixed valve plate in the housing having a flat outer surface generally centered on and perpendicular to a main axis and formed offset from the main axis with a pair of angularly offset and axially throughgoing inlet ports, and a movable valve plate in the housing having an inner surface flatly engaging the outer surface of the fixed valve plate and an opposite outer surface. The movable valve plate is formed with a pair of angularly offset and axially throughgoing inlet ports alignable with the fixed-plate inlet ports. The ports of one of the pairs of inlet ports are at different radial spacings from a center of the respective plate. An actuating lever is displaceable in the housing about the main axis and about a transverse axis crossing the main axis for shifting the movable plate between a closed position with both of the movable-plate inlet ports out of alignment with the fixed-plate inlet ports and blocked by the fixed-plate outer face, a pair of end positions with one of the movable-plate inlet ports aligned with one of the fixed-plate inlet ports and the other of the movable-plate inlet ports out of alignment with the other of the fixed-plate inlet ports, and an intermediate position with each of the movable-plate inlet ports partially overlapping the respective fixed-plate inlet port.

    Abstract: A volume control valve in accordance with the invention is formed in a valve body which is adapted for insertion into a valve fitting. The valve body includes a valve seat insert and a valve disk. A sealing element is disposed between the valve seat insert and the valve fitting. The sealing element is carried on a supporting piece such that a first face of the sealing element is disposed on one side of the supporting piece and a second face is disposed on the other side of the supporting piece. The supporting piece is held against shoulders in the body such that the valve seat insert is prestressed by a predetermined amount by the first face. The second face is deformable against the fitting to accomodate different fitting depths.

    Abstract: A plumbing fixture has a housing defining a chamber and having a bottom wall forming an upper surface and formed with at least one inlet port opening at the upper surface. A cartridge assembly in the chamber having a bottom surface directly confronting the bottom-wall upper surface is formed with an inlet port opening on the bottom surface in line with the bottom-wall inlet port. An inlet conduit having an end fitting extending through the inlet port and into the inlet port is formed with an outwardly open circumferential groove generally level with the surfaces. A split and spreadable snap ring fitted to the groove bears on the floor. One of the ports closely surrounds the snap ring and prevents it from spreading and a seal ring engages around the end fitting in the inlet port of the cartridge assembly.

    Abstract: A fitting is formed with an outwardly open generally cylindrical bore centered on an axis and having an inner surface of a predetermined inner diameter. A tube end fits axially into the bore and is formed with a radially outwardly open groove, and a partial stiff sleeve of elastically deformable and strong material is engaged in the groove and has a frustoconically outwardly flared sharp outer edge of a predetermined outer diameter. Interengaging formations on the sleeve and on the tube end spread the sleeve and force the edge to bite into the inner surface of the bore on axial outward displacement of the sleeve and tube end. An elastomeric seal ring on the tube end offset from the groove radially outwardly engages the bore.
