Abstract: The present invention provides organic-inorganic composite particles having an average diameter of 60 to 12,000 nm, wherein the organic-inorganic composite particles are obtainable by reacting particles A, which are particles carrying at least one functional group Ra, with particles B, which are particles carrying at least one functional group Rb, under formation of a covalent linkage between particles A and particles B. The present invention also provides compositions comprising these particles and substrates coated with these compositions.
