摘要: The cutting insert is provided with a polygonal-shaped insert main body (2) having two polygonal surfaces (3, 3) spaced away from each other and a plurality of side surfaces formed between these polygonal surfaces and also provided with cutting edges (8A, 8B, 8C) formed as a rake face on a peripheral edge of a first side surface (4) among the plurality of side surfaces. Among the plurality of side surfaces, a second side surface (6) which is positioned on the opposite side of the first side surface and given as a seating surface in contact with an insert seat of the tool main body for attaching the cutting insert is formed in a V-shape when viewed from the thickness direction of the insert main body and includes two contact portions (6A, 6A), each of which is formed in a raised curve shape on a cross section along the thickness direction, and the two contact portions are formed in a recessed V-shape so as to be greater in depth moving toward the center of the second side surface on the cross section along the thickness direction.

摘要: A ball nose end mill includes a tool body and a throwaway insert mountable on the tool body. The throwaway insert includes a bottom face as a mounting face, an upper face on an opposite side from the bottom face, a side face formed between the bottom face and the upper face, and a cutting edge formed along an intersecting ridge between the upper face and the side face in a substantially arc shape such that the rotational trace of the cutting edge when the throwaway insert is attached to the tool body in use substantially forms a partial spherical surface. An undulating portion, which is formed by alternately arranged concave portions and convex portions, is provided on the upper face so as to intersect the cutting edge. At least one of the concave portions is formed as a deep-concave portion which has a greater depth than that of the others.

摘要: This roughing end mill is provided with an end mill body which is rotated around an axis, and with a plurality of inserts which are placed on an outer circumference of the end mill body at a predetermined distance apart from each other in the direction of the axis. The plurality of inserts form insert rows of which a plurality are provided in a circumferential direction of the end mill body, and at least the inserts included in a group are positioned so as to be offset in the axial direction from each other in the different insert rows which are mutually adjacent in the circumferential direction. The inserts included in the group are provided with cutting edges which face towards an outer circumferential side of the end mill body and which are formed as waveform cutting edges which undulate as they move in the axial direction. One insert of one insert row of the inserts included in the group and an insert of another insert row which is offset therefrom in the axial direction among the inserts included in the group are positioned such that the waveform cutting edges of each of these inserts make up a waveform cutting edge row whose phase is continuous on a rotation trajectory around the axis. A plurality of these waveform cutting edge rows which have mutually different phases are formed on the outer circumference of the end mill body.

摘要: In the radius end mill, main gash faces has an angle of inclination with respect to an axis that is smaller than a twist angle of chip discharge flutes. The main gash faces are formed on inner circumferential sides of distal end portions of wall surfaces that face in a tool rotation direction of helically twisted chip discharge flutes, which is formed on an outer circumference of a distal end portion of a tool body that is rotated around the axis. End cutting edges are formed on a distal end of the main gash faces. Sub gash faces has an angle of inclination with respect to the axis that is greater than that of the main gash faces. The sub gash faces are formed on an outer circumferential side of the main gash faces such that they extend away via step portions from the main gash faces. In addition, corner cutting edges that have a protruding arc-shaped contour are formed to be continuous with an outer circumferential side of the end cutting edges extending from a distal end as far as an outer circumference of the sub gash faces.
