The method includes receiving by an e-commerce server a message that at least one product is added to an electronic shopping cart of the e-commerce website displayed on a consumer device; collecting by the e-commerce server at least one user-activity parameter related to a user of the consumer device; identifying, using the at least one user-activity parameter, an attempt of a user of the consumer device not to complete a purchase transaction of the at least one product; selecting at least one motivational content item for display on the consumer device; and causing a display of the selected at least one motivational content item on a display of the consumer device.
