摘要: A beam clamp for attachment to a flange of a structural building member and from which to support or brace a service component. The beam clamp has a clamp body, and a set screw. The clamp body includes a first jaw section with at least one mounting through hole, a second jaw section, a joining section that interconnects the first and second jaw sections, and a transverse opening that is to receive the flange. A contact surface on the second jaw section is formed with surface irregularities providing a roughness that enhances engagement of the contact surface with the flange. In use of the beam clamp, the contact surface is in contact with the flange of the structural member, the set screw is installed in the mounting through hole, and the flange is secured within transverse opening between the tip of the set screw and the contact surface.

摘要: A modular framing system has a plurality of spanning members, at least some of which are hollow and have a predetermined nominal wall thickness, fasteners, and a plurality of joiners that are each securable to two or more of the hollow spanning members. Each joiner has connection portions, and at least one web portion that interconnects an adjacent pair of the connection portions, and has a minimum thickness that is greater than the predetermined nominal wall thickness of the hollow spanning members. Each connection portion has through holes for fasteners to secure the joiner to spanning members. The web portion spaces the respective adjacent pair of connection portions, and spanning members secured to the adjacent pair of connection portions are non-parallel and lie in a common plane.

摘要: A system for supporting a non-structural building component beneath a soffit of a building. The system has a plurality of suspension assemblies that each have a first elongate non-rigid member, and at least one second elongate non-rigid member. The first elongate non-rigid member is secured at an upper end to a structural portion of the building at a first location, and at a lower end to one of: the non-structural building component, or a support member to which the non-structural building component is secured. The second elongate non-rigid member that is secured at a lower end to one of: the non-structural building component, or the support member to which the non-structural building component is secured, and at an upper end to a structural portion of the building at a second location. The first elongate non-rigid member is oriented substantially vertically. The second location is horizontally spaced from the first location, such that the second elongate non-rigid member is inclined to vertical. When the building is in a stable condition, the tensile force in the first elongate non-rigid member is greater than the vertical component of the tensile force in the second elongate non-rigid member.

摘要: A device for use in hanging sheet material is described. The device includes a body member, a catch member, and a hook. The body member has a crown portion, and pair of spaced apart legs that extend from the crown portion and define a slot there between. The slot opening at a bottom end such that the body member may locate on an edge of the sheet material with a portion of sheet material positioned within the slot. The catch member is movable between an engaged position in which the catch member resists removal of sheet material that is positioned within the slot thereby retaining the sheet material to the body member, and a retracted position in which sheet material is removable from the slot. The hook includes a bight portion, a shank portion and a point end.
