A frame saw is described, comprising a reciprocating saw frame (3) which is guided via guide means (9, 15) along lateral guide rails (4) and which comprises a sash (5) with two stringers (6, 7) for clamping parallel saw-blades (8) which cut in only one lifting direction, and a slider-crank drive (2) which is connected with the reciprocating saw frame (3) via lateral pushrods (12) in the area of the stringer (6) closest to the same. In order to provide advantageous constructional conditions it is proposed that the two pushrods (12) of the slider-crank drive (2) act upon a common crossbeam (10) for receiving the sash (5) in the area of the two stringer (6, 7) which is closest to the slider-crank drive (2), that the crossbeam (10) rests with the help of guide means (15) on the lateral guide rails (4), and that the crossbeam (10) is held in a swivelable manner relative to its guide means (15) about an axle (16) perpendicular to the guide rails (4) and the crossbeam (10).

The description refers to a mill saw with a saw gate (3) driven via a slider-crank drive (4), whose parallel saw blades (5), which cut in only one stroke direction, are provided with a bias, and with a feed conveyor (6) for the stock to be cut, which is driven intermittently during the cutting stroke of the saw gate (3) as a function of the cutting speed by means of at least one motor (10) separated from the slider-crank drive (4) and connected to a controlling system (12). To achieve favorable construction features, it is suggested that the controlling system (12) connected to a signal transmitter (17) for a preset position of rotation of the slider-crank drive (4) controls the motor (10) in dependence on the response of the signal transmitter (17) according to a stored control program for one conveying step adaptable to the respective stroke frequency of the slider-crank drive (4).

There is described an apparatus for finishing a steel edge (14) of a ski (15) by means of a pot-shaped grinding wheel (1) driven by a motor (2) with an axis of rotation extending transverse to the feed direction (8). To create advantageous constructional conditions it is proposed that the grinding wheel (1) with the motor (2) should be mounted in a frame (7) of a setting means so as to be freely rotatable about a swing axis (a) limited by a stop, which swing axis extends transverse to the feed direction (8) and vertical to the axis of rotation of the grinding wheel (1), and that for setting the grinding wheel (1) against the steel edge (14) the setting means can be swivelled in the direction of the axis of rotation of the grinding wheel (1) about a swivel axis (b) parallel to the feed direction (8) between two working positions on the one hand for the machining surface of the steel edge (14) on the side of the running surface and on the other hand for the outer machining surface of the steel edge (14).
