To achieve this result, the subject control system (44, 112) is operatively connected in circuit relation with the feed means (12) that supplies to the roller mill (10) the material that is to be pulverized therein, with the drive means (20, 22) through which the mill (10) is driven, with the classifier means (38) that effects a separation of the pulverized material according to fineness, and with the means which receives the output from the roller mill (10).

    摘要: A mill recirculation system (10, 40) that is operative for purposes of effecting the pulverization and firing of solid fuels, while yet possessing all of the desirable features of a direct fired system. The subject system (10, 40) includes pulverizer means (14, 48), classifier means (12, 44) and burner means (16, 68) as well as a preestablished fluid flow path by which the pulverizer means (14, 48) and the classifier means (12, 44) are interconnected in fluid flow relation with the burner means (16, 68). In accord with the mode of operation of the subject mill recirculation system (10, 40) a stream of solid fuel is made to flow along the fluid flow path such that the solid fuel is pulverized in the pulverizer means (14, 48), classified according to particle size in the classifier means (12, 44) and fired in the burner means (16, 68). Further, a stream of a suitable gaseous medium is made to flow along the flow path such that the gaseous medium is operative to cause the solid fuel to be conveyed therewith through the pulverizer means (14, 48) while being dried thereby and to be conveyed therewith from the pulverizer means (14, 48) to the classifier means (12, 44). At the classifier means (12, 44) a separation is had of the stream of the gaseous medium such that a portion of the gaseous medium is recirculated along with the oversize solid fuel particles back to the pulverizer means (14, 48) while the remainder of the gaseous medium is operative to convey the solid fuel particles that are of the desired size from the classifier means (12, 44) to the burner means (16, 68) for burning, i.e., firing, in the latter.

    摘要: An imp mill having adjustment means, which is particularly suited for the fine and medium-fine grinding of softer non-metallic minerals and coal. The subject imp mill includes a housing that defines a grinding chamber having an inlet and an outlet. A multiplicity of swing-hammers are suitably mounted on a rotatable shaft for rotation within the grinding chamber whereby the swing-hammers are operable to effect the grinding of material located within the grinding chamber. The aforesaid shaft passes through the grinding chamber substantially at the center thereof and is externally driven by a suitable drive means. The imp mill further includes inlet means suitably supported on the housing so as to communicate with the inlet of the grinding chamber. The inlet means is operable to supply to the interior of the grinding chamber the material to be ground therein. There is also provided outlet means suitably supported on the housing so as to communicate with the outlet of the grinding chamber. The outlet means is operable to effect the discharge of the ground material from the grinding chamber. An adjustment means is suitably supported for relative movement within the outlet means at the entrance thereof such that the adjustment means is located in juxtaposed relation to the outlet of the grinding chamber. The degree of fineness to which the material is ground in the grinding chamber can be adjusted by varying the relative position of the adjustment means, while the mill is in operation.

    摘要: A burner of relatively small BTU rating embodying a multiplicity of jets and particularly suited for burning pulverized coal in small air heater or furnace applications. The subject burner includes a housing having first inlet means formed at one end thereof and outlet means formed at the other end thereof. The first inlet means is connectable to a pipe means through which pulverized coal and primary air are fed from a suitable source thereof to the burner. The burner is further provided with second inlet means, the latter being formed in the burner housing so as to be located therein in close proximity to the aforesaid first inlet means. The second inlet means is connectable to a suitable source of secondary air from where secondary air is fed to the burner. Both the first inlet means and the second inlet means are operatively connected in fluid flow relation with the outlet means of the burner whereby the primary air, the pulverized coal and the secondary air are all discharged from the burner at the outlet end thereof. A multiplicity of jets are embodied in the burner extending substantially the length thereof. Additionally, the burner includes spacing means operative for spacing the multiplicity of jets one from another in supported relation within the burner housing, and for defining a plurality of flow paths for the secondary air through the burner housing. Finally, there are provided mounting means operative for cooperatively associating the burner with a small air heater, or small furnace, or other functionally similar piece of equipment.

    摘要: A Venturi dispersing feeder particularly suited for utilization as part of a flash drying system, and through the operation of which wet material is introduced into a hot gas stream for purposes of effecting the rapid evaporation of the moisture in the material. The subject Venturi dispersing feeder includes a feeder body, which functions as a housing for rotor means. The latter rotor means is equipped with a multiplicity of blade means suitably mounted thereon for rotation therewith. The feeder body further has formed therein inlet means, connectable in fluid flow relation with a source of wet material and operable for feeding the wet material therethrough into the feeder body, and outlet means, connectable in fluid flow relation with a stream of hot gases and operable for discharging the wet material from the feeder body into the stream of hot gases in substantially parallel relation to the path of flow of the latter. The feeder body is suitably supported on a base. The latter base is provided with adjustment means operative for effecting adjustments in the angle of discharge of the wet material from the discharge outlet means relative to the path of flow of the stream of hot gases so that the wet material leaving the discharge outlet means can be made, through adjustments in the angle of discharge thereof, to enter the hot gas stream with the desired orientation relative thereto, i.e., in substantially parallel relation to the path of flow thereof and in coincident relation therewith.
