    摘要： An improved structure is provided for connecting an end of an elongate member to an end plate. The end plate is provided with an aperture for receiving a fastener having a threaded shank adapted for extending through the aperture and having a head for engaging the end plate. The structure includes at least a first slot in the elongate member. A retaining member is provided for being positioned in the elongate member slot. The retaining member has two oppositely extending end portions for each projecting laterally beyond the elongate member and engaging the elongate member. The retaining member defines a threaded bore for threadingly receiving the threaded shank of the fastener.

    摘要： A spirit level is provided which may be conveniently packaged and sold in knocked down form with the liquid vials and vial holders initially separated from the frame. The mounting openings in the web of the frame are rectangular or square with sides parallel and perpendicular to the working surfaces of the frame. The vial holders comprise a pair of opposed mating members of complementary configuration with the opening and having four pairs of mounting tabs for positioning the vial in accurate parallel or vertical orientation by cooperating with the corners of the rectangular opening. The holders also comprise posts which cooperate with the pairs of tabs to urge the tabs into gripping engagement with the corners of the mounting openings.

    摘要： Two rails, each having a straight edge, two ends and a cross section defining a channel, are placed in an end-to-end butting relationship to form a continuous straight edge. A joiner plate has an arcuate cross section and has lateral margins for being received in the rail channels. The plate is placed in the rail channels and is fastened to the rails so as to deflect the plate downwardly and force the lateral margins of the plate tight against the rails to align the rails and hold the rails together.
