    摘要: A valve comprising a valve body having a first end, a second end, and a through opening forming a fluid flow passage and a wall surrounding a portion of the fluid flow passage, the fluid flow passage defining an axis that is co-axial with the wall. A valve element is rotatably mounted in the valve body, the valve element having an annular, radiused sealing surface and being rotatable around a second axis perpendicular to the first axis passing through the fluid flow passage. A valve seat assembly is disposed in the valve body for sealing engagement with the sealing surface of the valve element, the valve seat assembly being axially displaced from the second axis toward the first end of the valve body, the valve seat assembly comprising a seal ring of a resilient, plastic material and having an annular radially inwardly facing first surface for sealing engagement with the sealing surface on the valve element and an annular, radially outwardly facing second surface, an annular radially outwardly facing groove being formed in the second surface. An elastomeric backing ring is disposed in the groove, the backing ring being circular in cross-section and having a center-line defined by a first plane passing through the center of the backing ring perpendicular to the first axis, the engagement between the sealing surface on the valve element and the first surface on the seal ring being substantially annular, line contact when the valve element is in the closed position and in the absence of any fluid pressure acting on the valve element, the line contact engagement lying in a second plane axially displaced from the first plane in a direction away from the second axis toward the first end of the valve body. There are also provided retaining means for retaining the valve seat assembly in the valve body.

    摘要: A rotary actuator defining a first arcuate chamber and a second chamber, the housing having an inwardly projecting, peripherally extending rib which defines an aperture in open communication with the arcuate chamber, a peripherally extending groove being formed in the rib in surrounding relationship to the aperture, the groove having first and second peripherally extending spaced side surfaces, an arcuate shaped piston being disposed in the housing for reciprocable movement in the arcuate chamber, a shaft rotatably journaled in the housing and connected to the piston and being rotatable in response to movement of the piston, a floating seal disposed in the groove for effecting sealing between the piston and the housing, the seal being in sealing engagement with the first and second side surfaces forming the groove, a fluid pressure inlet to introduce fluid pressure into at least one of the arcuate chamber or the second chamber to provide a pressurized chamber and effect movement of the piston in a first direction, a return system to effect movement of the piston in an opposite, second direction, the housing being provided with a passageway to transfer pressure from the pressurized chamber to the groove outwardly of the seal such that fluid pressure from the pressurized chamber acts to urge the seal inwardly into sealing engagement with the piston and the housing.

    摘要: A valve comprising a valve body having a through opening that forms a fluid passage and having a wall surrounding a portion of the fluid passage, the wall defining a radially inwardly facing surface, the valve further including a valve element rotatably mounted in the valve body. To retain a valve seat in the valve body, there is provided a ring that has a peripheral surface shaped and sized such that the peripheral surface closely faces the radially inwardly facing surface of the wall when the ring is positioned within the through opening. The ring has a first axially facing side and a second axially facing side and a notch formed in the first side, the ring also having a second, radially outwardly facing annular groove in the peripheral surface that intersects the notch. When the ring is positioned within the through opening of the valve body, the first and second annular grooves are in register and thereby define an annular channel. A wire member having a first end and a second end has its first end removably fixed in the first annular groove such that, when the notch on the ring is in register with the fixed first end, rotation of the ring relative to the valve body in a direction away from the first end of the wire member and along the length of the wire member toward the second end threads the wire member into the channel.
