A method of securing a subject support accessory (126, 200) to a subject support (116) of an imaging system (100) includes receiving, via slots (316, 318) in pivoting arms (304, 310) of the accessory, the tabletop, wherein the accessory is vertically lowered onto the subject support and the slots physically engage the tabletop, and releasably locking the arms, in response to receiving a force, so that the arms no longer pivot, thereby securing the subject support accessory to the subject support.

摘要： A medical imaging apparatus includes a stationary gantry and a generally spool-shaped rotating gantry (304), which rotates about an examination region about a longitudinal axis. The rotating gantry includes a first flange (320), a second flange (322), and a plurality of elongate structural elements (402) that are disposed between and couple' the first and second flanges. The first flange (320) is rotatably coupled to the stationary gantry, and the second flange (322) extends radially in a plane perpendicular to the longitudinal axis, thereby providing radial stiffness for the rotating gantry. A radiation source is affixed to the rotating gantry between the first and second flanges, and a detector array is affixed to the rotating gantry between the first and second flanges, opposite the examination region from the radiation source.

摘要： A curved linear induction motor direct drive is provided. The rotor of the motor drive is mechanically attached to a rotating frame which in turn holds other components. The rotor may comprise two layers, an aluminum ring to provide the principal magnetic interaction with the stator, and a steel ring to provide mechanical strength. Such a rotor ring may be manufactured with a compression fit.
