Abstract: A motor control method and apparatus in which when a motor rotating at prescribed RPM is to be stopped, a reverse maximum voltage is applied to the motor to rotate it in a reverse direction. Upon reversal of the direction of rotation of the motor, the reverse maximum voltage is cut off to stop the rotation of the motor in a shortest period of time.

Abstract: A radiation image information recording/reading apparatus for detecting phosphorescent light from a side opposite of radiation irradiation on a stimulable phosphor sheet is downsized. The radiation image information recording/reading apparatus comprises an image recording unit for recording radiation image information on the sheet by irradiating the radiation representing image information on the sheet, an excitation light main scan means for main scan of the sheet by excitation light, photoelectric detection means for detecting the phosphorescent light emitted from the sheet, vertical scan means, and erasing means for releasing residual energy from the sheet prior to recording another image on the sheet after reading the information from the sheet. In the apparatus, the excitation light main scan means comprises a linear light source emitting the excitation light in the form of fan beams, and the photoelectric detection means comprises a line sensor.

Abstract: A radiation image data reading apparatus that receives a cassette that houses a substantially inflexible stimulable phosphor sheet with high rigidity therein with an opening at an end portion thereof for inserting and removing said sheet having radiation image data recorded thereon and reads out radiation image data from said stimulable phosphor sheet which has been removed from said cassette conveys the stimulable phosphor sheet from said opening of a received cassette at a constant speed by sheet conveyance means. As the stimulable phosphor sheet is being removed from the cassette, an excitation light main scan means performs a main scan in a direction substantially perpendicular to the direction of said conveyance, at a position close to said opening. The phosphorescent light emitted from the area of the sheet irradiated by the excitation light is detected by photoelectric detection means.
