    Abstract: A thermal assembly of a wind turbine is provided, including an external liquid-to-air heat exchanger arranged to lower the temperature of a liquid coolant in a coolant circuit which coolant circuit is arranged to convey the liquid coolant to a number of heat-dissipating components during operation of the wind turbine; and a thermal assembly control arrangement realized to exclude the external liquid-to-air heat exchanger from the coolant circuit during an off-grid mode of the wind turbine. Also provided is a method of operating a wind turbine in an off-grid mode, the wind turbine including an embodiment of such a thermal assembly.

    Abstract: Provided is a wind turbine including multiple components generating heat during operation of the wind turbine and a liquid cooling system, wherein the multiple components are thermally coupled by a liquid coolant cycle of the liquid coolant system to an ambient heat exchanger of the liquid coolant system, the ambient heat exchanger being arranged to exchange heat between a liquid coolant contained in the liquid coolant cycle and ambient air, whereby the liquid coolant system includes a heat pump having a cooling operation mode, wherein the heat pump is arranged in the coolant liquid cycle such that the liquid coolant of the liquid coolant cycle is cooled, when the heat pump is operated in the cooling operation mode. Also provided is a method for operating the wind turbine.

    Abstract: A method for cleaning a generator of a wind turbine is provided, including locking a wind turbine rotor, shutting off a generator; removing a cooling device such that an opening is accessible for maintenance purposes; inserting a cleaning agent into the opening such that the cleaning agent gets at least partially in effective contact with a winding and/or with a magnetic element; at least partially removing the cleaning agent from the generator; mounting the cooling device to the opening; and releasing the wind turbine rotor, wherein the cleaning agent is or includes a grease remover that is non-water-soluble and a fluid liquid such that the generator can be partially flushed with the grease remover, has a density larger than 0.6 g/cm3 and lower than 0.85 g/cm3, has kinematic viscosity larger than 1.3 mm2/s and lower than 2.5 mm2/s, and comprises N-Paraffins and hydrocarbons.

    Abstract: A sealing arrangement of a wind turbine is provided including an axial seal, a stationary member and a generator rotor for sealing a gap between the stationary member and the generator rotor. Accordingly, the stationary member is arranged between a lubricant chamber and an air chamber and the generator rotor is configured to rotate about a rotational axis, wherein the seal is arranged at an end of the stationary member. The seal includes a first lip configured to contact the generator rotor and the first lip is configured to allow a leakage of lubricant at the contact between the first lip and the generator rotor. The seal further includes a second lip arranged radially outwards with respect of the first lip and the rotational axis.

    Abstract: Provided is a wind turbine including an active yaw system realized to maintain an upwind orientation of the wind turbine aerodynamic rotor during safe operating conditions, which active yaw system includes a number of yaw drive units, and wherein a yaw drive unit includes a negative brake; a principal power supply configured to supply power to the active yaw system during normal operation of the wind turbine; and a dedicated negative brake reserve power supply configured to supply power to the negative brakes in the event of a grid disconnect.     Abstract: A method of determining a value of a pitch speed for a pitch actuator of at least one rotor blade of a wind turbine includes: providing a quantity being indicative of a value of a bearing moment of the rotor blade; determining the value of a pitch speed based on the quantity and a reference quantity indicative of a reference value of the bearing moment of the rotor blade such that, if the quantity indicates that the value of a bearing moment of the rotor blade is below the reference value of the bearing moment of the rotor blade, the value of a pitch speed is determined to be above a reference value of the pitch speed.
