摘要： Systems and methods are provided for controlling monitoring operations, such as the monitoring of signal strength, media access control layer overhead information data, application layer overhead information, and/or data in a device, such as a battery powered, mobile, communication device. A user interface status and/or a flow status can be monitored. Based at least in part on the user interface status and/or the flow status, a determination can be made as to when and/or how often monitoring is to be performed.
