Abstract: A greeting card distribution system comprises a display (20) where the cards (27) are positioned in pockets (26) edgewise so that no more than 20% of the front face (82) of the cards (27) is visible to increase the density of cards (27) that can be sold in a limited retail space. The images of the cards (27) in the display (20) can be viewed on a client device (204). A customer can be provided a location code (92) for a purchased card, and can then remove the card from the pocket (26) associated with the location code (92). Preferably the display (20) has multiple replaceable modules (24) so that cards (27) can be restocked or changed out in bulk by removing a replaceable module (24) and replacing it with another module (24) already stocked with cards (27).
