    摘要: A production apparatus for a tapered steel pipe which holds the two ends of the steel pipe by shafts on carriers and moves it in the axial direction while rotating it to draw it to a taper by an intermediate working roll, wherein the shaft of the working roll is inclined 20 to 40 degrees with respect to the axis of the steel pipe and a roll caliber of the working roll is made an outwardly curved surface with little difference in roll peripheral speed; the face plate for mounting the working roll is positioned and supported with respect to the body by a hinge mechanism and is fastened to the body by fastening members; and the bearing of the working roll at the side close to the steel pipe is made smaller than the bearing at the side far from the steel pipe and the two bearings are connected by a tie-rod.

    摘要: A steel material and a steel pipe each exhibiting an excellent corrosion resistance in an environment containing a wet carbon dioxide and a small amount of hydrogen sulfide are produced at low cost and with high productivity, a steel slab which contains, in wt %, 0.01 to 0.6% of Si, 0.02 to 1.8% of Mn, 7.5 to 14.0% of Cr, 1.5 to 4.0% of Cu and 0.005 to 0.1% of Al, which reduces C to not more than 0.02%, N to not more than 0.02%, P to not more than 0.025% and S to not more than 0.01%, and whose balance consists of Fe and unavoidable impurities, is heated to a temperature of 1,100.degree. to 1,300.degree. C., hot rolling is finished at a rolling finish temperature of not less than 800.degree. C. and a cumulative rolling reduction quantity at a temperature not more than 1,050.degree. C. is at least 65%, and cooling is carried out at a cooling rate of less than 0.02.degree. C./sec to at least 500.degree. C. so as to substantially convert the metallic structure to ferrite.

    摘要: A structural member usable for a car capable of demonstrating excellent flexural strength and absorbed energy performance and, moreover, capable of realizing weight reduction and is a structural member for a car being formed with a high-tensile steel pipe having a material property of not less than 1,400 MPa in tensile strength and not less than 5% in elongation. The structural member has a closed section structure which is provided as the configuration of the cross section perpendicular to the direction of the longitudinal axis. The cross-sectional configuration satisfies the following expression when a is defined as the maximum length of said cross-sectional configuration in the longitudinal direction, when b is defined as the maximum length thereof in the direction perpendicular to said direction, when L is defined as the circumferential length thereof, and when t is defined as the wall thickness of the steel pipe, 0.65≦b/a≦0.75, 0.014≦t/L≦0.020 and preferably, the structural member is disposed so that the longitudinal direction of the cross-sectional configuration of the structural member coincides with the direction of the collision of a car body when the structural member is attached to the car body.

    摘要: A highly impact-resistant member has a round or square sectional shape, that is excellent in strength and toughness, does not undergo the deterioration of toughness in the vicinity of the welded portion, and a highly impact-resistant steel pipe has a tensile strength TS of 1,700 MPa or more and a yield ratio YR of 72% or less, the yield ratio being the ratio of a 0.1%-proof stress YS to a tensile strength TS (YS/TS). The toughness of the welded portion of the steel pipe is enhanced by controlling the Si amount in the steel of the steel pipe in the range from Mn/8−0.07 to Mn/8+0.07. The steel contains, in mass, 0.19 to 0.35% C, 0.10 to 0.30% Si, 0.5 to 1.60% Mn, not more than 0.025% P, not more than 0.01% S, 0.010 to 0.050% Al, 2 to 35 ppm B and 0.005 to 0.05% Ti as indispensable components.
