摘要： A data head is provided which includes a slider having a transducer formed in a thin film structure at a trailing edge end of the slider. The data head also includes transducer overcoat protection which protects the transducer without increasing a spacing between the transducer and a surface of a data storage disc for a given fly height of the data head above the surface of the data storage disc. In addition, a method of fabricating the data head is disclosed.
