摘要: A system for quantum state transfer and entanglement generation includes a quantum system including a plurality of qubits, a processor, and a memory. The memory includes instructions stored thereon, which, when executed by the processor, cause the quantum system to: access a signal of the quantum system; encode unknown coefficients in one qubit of the plurality of qubits; initialize each of the remaining qubits of the plurality of qubits in state |0; group the plurality of qubits into a plurality of subsystems; in each of the plurality of subsystems: encode quantum information into Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger-like (GHZ-like) states using nearest-neighbor interactions; and apply a generalized controlled-phase gate between the plurality of subsystems to merge the GHZ-like states into an entangled state between of the plurality of subsystems.

摘要: A microsurgical device and methods of its use can be used for treatment of various conditions including eye diseases, such as glaucoma, using minimally invasive surgical techniques. A dual-blade device can be used for cutting the trabecular meshwork (“TM”) in the eye. The device tip provides entry into the Schlemm's canal via its size (i.e., for example, 0.2-0.3 mm width) and configuration where a ramp elevates the TM away from the outer wall of the Schlemm's canal and guides the TM to first and second lateral elements for creating first and second incisions through the TM. The dimensions and configuration of the blade is such that an entire strip of TM is removed without leaving TM leaflets behind and without causing collateral damage to adjacent tissues.

摘要: The present invention provides a method of PEGylating a human truncated cystathionine β-synthase protein containing a mutation of a cysteine to a serine at amino acid position 15 (htCBS C15S). The htCBS C15S was PEGylated with one of 5 kDa, 10 kDa, or 20 kDa NHS ester PEG molecules. In-process monitoring of the PEGylation process was used in the method to reduce levels of unPEGylated htCBS C15S and htCBS C15S with insufficient PEGylation. Administration of the PEGylated htCBS C15S had efficacy throughout the course of treatment for homocystinuria.

摘要: The disclosure describes optically pumped magnetometers and systems incorporating, and methods of operating, the same. An optically pumped magnetometer according to one embodiment of the present technology includes a vapor cell configured to contain an atomic absorber such as rubidium-87, and at least one light source in optical communication with the vapor cell. The optically pumped magnetometer includes components positioned and configured to provide a bias field, and induce a zeroing field, within the vapor cell. Among other useful and advantageous ends, embodiments of the present technology provide for increasing the degree of atomic polarization in optically pumped magnetometers based on zeroing the bias magnetic field during the optical pumping process.
